What will I learn?

What to expect at CVCC Live 2018

  • See a comparison of the ProMaster, Transit, Sprinter, and  others. Learn which one will fit your needs best (if you already have your van, that's okay too).
  • Learn the order of steps your van conversion should be completed in so you don't have to go back and remove layers because something got left out.
  • See a variety of standard van floor plans and learn which one is the best fit for your needs.
  • Learn how to plan your ventilation strategy including how to know if you need an air conditioner and how to fit everything on your roof.
  • Learn the best (and worst) solar panels to choose and how to mount them without pulling your hair out (this is a major hurdle that discourages people at the beginning of the project, learn what to do so you can knock this out in an afternoon and have it done correctly).
  • Learn how shore power (a.k.a. plugging in your van) and charging off of the alternator can work in tandem with solar, or even without it.
  • Learn the pros and cons of lead-acid versus lithium batteries, and what the actual systems look like side-by-side at the workshop (not just pictures, but actual systems will be at the workshop so you can walk up and ask questions).
  • See cabinetry mockups and learn the construction techniques and hardware used by professional van shops (hint: these aren't items found at your local hardware store)!
  • See a complete, operational water system in-person so you can learn which major components you need, and how they fit together.
  • Learn how to safely install a propane system to run multiple items and give you years of extensive use in off-grid situations.
  • Learn about heating systems, from budget-friendly to top-of-the-line, as well as the tricks needed to install a built-in system on Sprinters, Transits, ProMasters and others.
  • Learn how to plan your insulation strategy, including the 4 major types Ross uses, where to put them, and how to know which ones you need.
  • And more...
